The Churchland Branch library is one of the busiest branches in the
Portsmouth Public Library System. The current building was built in 1972 and
expanded in 1987 to 5,993 sq. ft. The City of Portsmouth is in the
process of building a new 20,000 sq. ft. building at the corner of Cedar
Road & High Street (the former Coleman's Nursery site) and the Churchland
Branch library will be moving to the new site in early 2009. You can
learn more about the project, look at the floor plan, and watch a slideshow
of the progress on our
"New Churchland" page.
