American Factfinder (US Census Bureau) - Your source for population, housing, economic, and geographic data.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention - the lead federal agency for protecting the health and safety of people - at home and abroad, providing credible information to enhance health decisions, and promoting health through strong partnerships.

Department of Defense - providing official, timely and accurate information about defense policies, organizations, functions and operations. DefenseLINK is the single, unified starting point for finding military information on-line.

GPO Access - The U.S. Government Printing Office disseminates official information from all three branches of the Federal Government.

IRS e-File - File your Federal taxes online here, make payments, print tax forms, find mailing addresses by state, contact information for local offices, answers to frequently asked questions. Find out the status of your refund.

Library of Congress - Site of the "largest library in the world, with [over one hundred million] items," including books, recordings, photographs, maps, and manuscripts. Contains searchable Library catalogs, guides to research centers, and introductary overviews of the Library designed for researchers, law researchers, librarians and archivists, children and families, publishers, and persons with disabilities. Includes a FAQ, exhibit information, and a brief history of the "nation's oldest federal cultural institution." Searchable.

THOMAS - Databases providing access to the full texts of bills and laws from the United States Congress, the daily Congressional Record, relevant proceedings and proposed legislation, committee reports, and roll call votes, variously available from the present back to the 93rd Congress (1973). The site includes links to major U.S. legislative Web sites.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office - Search for patents and trademarks, learn about copyrights, patent laws and rules, trademark laws, Internet domain names and much more

Project Vote Smart - a citizen's organization dedicated to serving all Americans with accurate and unbiased information for electoral decision-making.

Ready.gov - From the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a website devoted to citizen preparedness.
